Mission / description The OREGON INDEPENDENT FILM FEST is quickly becoming the hot new festival and cinema event showcase for independent films in Portland and the Pacific Northwest, with the prestige of recently hosting premieres for:

'Mad Max: Fury Road' starring Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy, as well as 'Love and Mercy' with John Cusack and Paul Dano, and 'The One I Love' starring Mark Duplass (The League) and Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), and the Oregon Independent Film Festival was proud to screen Philip Seymour Hoffman's posthumous short film 'One-Armed Man', and to host 'Myst' & 'Riven' co-creator Robyn Miller's debut film 'The Immortal Augustus Gladstone' and recently screened films featuring Ashley Judd, and Tilda Swinton in addition to our slate of new independent filmmaking.

The Oregon Independent Film Festival is known for our extensive selection of music-based documentary premieres.
Recent discoveries include films about: Bob Marley, Quiet Riot, NOFX,
and The Flaming Lips.

Our world-renowned Festival Documentary Program has honored documentaries as diverse as; the Sean Penn feature 'The Human Experiment', the acclaimed child labor story 'El Milagro', and community activist films like 'As Goes Janesville' (which received screenings on PBS) and many more!

Oregon Film Festival discoveries include the early film work of Benedict Cumberbatch, and the underground horror film sensation 'Toad Road', which found distribution from Elijah Wood's SpectreVision.

The Oregon Independent Film Festival is not to be missed for any fan of Independent cinema.

OIFF programs hundreds of films from over 20 countries, all screened throughout the classic cinemas of Oregon state in our roadshow across the great state of Oregon each fall, concluding with a week of film screenings and events in Portland, Oregon USA.
