Mission / description The American Documentary And Animation Film Festival (AmDocs) is one of the largest docs only film festivals in the United States. AmDocs is now an Oscar qualifying event for eligible documentaries in the Short Documentary category. Our mission is to reach as many people as possible within and outside of our community with provocative films that excite and educate. We also have a unique Film Fund Pitch Competition where filmmakers compete for finishing funds to complete their works in progress. full text less text

Category rules If you submit your animated short to the American Documentary Film Festival and Film Fund, it may be considered for inclusion into our library which is catalogued and deposited at the Palm Springs Public Library in-library viewing, education outreach and singular public check-outs. The library is a free of charge institution and as such there is no renumeration for the library nor the filmmaker, though a tremendous opportunity at exposure of your work and maintaining access to it for many years to come. All other rules in the other categories noted within this site are applicable to this category as well.
