These festivals fully comply with FFL's festival validation policy. There is no doubt that they are established and/or legitimate events.
NOT VALIDATED FESTIVALS

In 2017, I was there as a Jury Member in the Vulcan Prize of the Official Competition, a dream come true : watch all the films in Competition. It was enthralling !
In 2016, I attended as special guest, as I had a film in the Official Selection (Close Encounters with Vilmos Zsigmond) that was nominated for the Golden Camera and the Golden Eye Prizes - another dream come true !
Cannes was a massive experience, huge in every way. You could feel the spirit and hype on the streets, La Croisette, inside the Palais and in the International Village. Even though it is one of the most glamorous festivals in Europe, the market seems to be at the heart of it all with a very 'business first' atmosphere. It's really is a great start for your film! The services with free water and coffee inside the Palais were the cherry on the cake for us. Only the badge system with no-tickets made us suffer - a few times we were lining up for an hour or more with no success getting in.
Tip: Don't forget your umbrella. It is the Cote d'Azur in May and that really means a lot of rain…
No amount of preparation is possible to really get ready for Festival de Cannes. The sense of community from the Palais, to the streets, to the theaters builds a hype that is unsurpassed by any festival in the world. The market was of extremely high standard with a diverse mix of sales agents, festivals and films. The guest services were fantastic with really friendly staff and services like free water and coffee made our experience that much richer. While the no-ticket structure makes sense, the lines do get a little tiresome and even though we had press-badges, sometimes we lined up for over an hour without getting in. This would be the major drawback of my experience but obviously it comes together with the extreme hierarchy that exists within the attendance of Cannes. While the quality of the films and the screenings themselves don't really need further comment: simply, impeccable.
