Mission / description IndieCork is an International festival celebrating independent filmmaking with a special commitment to the short film.

Now in its fifth year the festival is, according to the Irish Times, "one of the key events in Cork's cultural calendar".

IndieCork is structured as a co-operative and has an open membership of people committed to the possibilities of cinema. From the beginning Palm d'Or winner, Ken Loach, has been Honorary Patron.

The festival takes place October 7th to 14th 2018

Entry deadline is July 20th 2018
1. Entry Requirements
Films should be recent productions. For the purposes of the Short Film Competitions only films completed since July 1st 2015 are eligible.

Films must be Cork premieres.
Any screenings in Ireland before IndieCork, must be listed on the entry form, so that we are aware of the screening history of your film in Ireland.

We screen short films, documentaries and independent features. All genres are welcome including animation and experimental films.

Films of all lengths are welcome. For the purposes of the Short Film Competitions, only films of 30 minutes or under are eligible for competition.

2. Preview Screeners
Films may be submitted for pre-selection through online screening formats such as Vimeo or as DVDs which should be sent to our postal address.

3. Entry Procedure and Selection
The deadline for entry is July 14th 2017. To ensure that your film will be considered we advise entering as soon as possible and before the deadline, as late entries will not be accepted.

Selected films will be notified at the end August and you will be asked to provide suitable film images for publication, plus technical information, and confirmation of the screening format.

4. Screening Copies
We request all films to be delivered on DCP.
Technical requirements will be communicated upon selection.
Films not in the English language must be available with English subtitles.

5. Shipping of screening copies to IndieCork
Screening copies must arrive to our office, either digitally or hard copy no later than September 7th 2016. This is important as all copies must be checked in advance of screening.

The cost of inbound copies of films must be borne by the print source.

Screening copies that are not digital files will be returned to the shipper by IndieCork within two weeks of the screening date.

IndieCork will bear responsibility for outbound shipping only.

6. Promotional Material
Participation at IndieCork implies giving the festival permission to use promotional clips of the material up to 10% of the overall running time. Clips will be used in the context of the promotion of the festival and the film itself only.

7. Charges
We charge an Entry Fee of €10 for short film and €15 per feature and documentary (over 30 mins).

If multiple films are being submitted, e.g. by a national film agency or film school, please contact us at info@indiecork.com so that we can advise on a non-prohibitive rate.

Please note that IndieCork does not pay screening fees for films submitted to us.
