The organization
Linea d’Ombra Festival is an international festival of cinema promoted, organized and managed by SalernoInFestival and supported with the contributions and the support of public and/or private associations, foundations and sponsors. The festival adheres to Afic (Association of Italian Film Festival).

Date
The 23th edition will take place in Salerno from 8 to 15 December 2018.

Project
Linea d’Ombra Festival is an event that aims to transdisciplinary to relate the different forms of creativity and promote it to the public. Develop projects that have an effective and productive training relapse, encourage the creation of collective works of young artists from different backgrounds, finally exploit the cultural potential of the territory of the Campania region both nationally and internationally.

Competitive section
The festival launches a call for three competitive section
-CortoEuropa: A maximum of 20 digital short films with a length of maximum 20 minutes, produced in Europe in the years 2017 to 2018 are admitted in competition.
-LineaDoc:Documentaries produced in the years 2017 to 2018 are admitted in competition. The contest is open to everyone, with no restriction on age and geographical origin, who wants to tell their own vision of the hero in the contemporary age, through documentary.
-My Vertical View: Digital short films of any kind of genre with a length of maximum 5 minutes (tail titles included), designed and realized in 9:16 (1080x1920), using any device, are admitted in competition.
The number of works accepted for the competition section will be defined by the artistic direction and may vary depending on the needs of planning and project coherence.

Registration is free.

The submission implies acceptance of these regulations. For matters not covered by the regulations, the organization of the festival will have the final decision.

Acceptance of the regulations authorizes Linea d’Ombra Festival to use the films selected for competition in the different category and in any other activities directly organized or sponsored by the festival itself, even outside of the dates of the festival.

Hospitality
The organization is pleased to invite the director or one of the other cast members of the film selected in CortoEuropa e LineaDoc section to be present at the screening and attend the meetings with the jury, by offering hospitality (food and lodging) for the days agreed.
The organization provides a budget for the partial reimbursement of travel expenses incurred. This reimbursement may be granted up to a maximum of € 50,00 on the basis of supporting evidence, i.e. rail, airline or shipping tickets. Any refunds will be assigned until the available fund is exhausted and will be paid only when the financial contribution has been provided by the main funding body.

Jury e Awards
The films in competition will be judged by the official jury of the festival.
The films in CortoEuropa competition will be judged by the official jury and the expert jury of the festival.
The official jury will award the“Linea d’Ombra Festival CortoEuropa 2018” and a money prize of EUR 1.000,00 (EUR one thousand/00) to the winning film. The expert jury will award the “Linea d’Ombra Festival Special Prize of Jury” to the winning film.
The winner of LineaDoc section will receive the award “Linea d’Ombra Festival LineaDoc 2018” and a money prize of EUR 1.000,00 (EUR one thousand/00).
The winner of My Vertical View section will receive the award “Linea d’Ombra Festival VedoVerticale 2018” and and a money prize of EUR 500,00 (EUR five hundred/00).
The artistic direction reserves the right to give special mentions to those films that have shown particular technical and creative qualities.

Projections and Program
The festival program and schedule of screenings are decided by the artistic director and the heads of different sections. The films are presented in their original languages with subtitles in Italian. The festival will publish a catalog on the official website, English and Italian, which incorporates all the works presented in and out of competition.

Privacy and responsibility
By participating in the competition candidates give unconditional assent, according to the italian law d. lg. June 30, 2003, n. 196 and the General Data Protection Regulation, EU Regulation n. 2016/679 on the protection of privacy, to the use of personal data for all initiatives related to the event. The participant declares to hold the legal rights of the work, to authorize the public screening without claiming any compensation, freeing the organization and screening rooms from any present and future responsibility.
