Mission / description Launched nineteen years ago as a challenge to introduce into video storytelling intensity and speed – two key words in our contemporary culture – in order to create brilliant short stories. The search began for the very best productions and the desire to celebrate them in a city like Mestre, which is a metropolis born of contemporary culture.Today, we can assert that not only have we risen to the challenge and matched it, but its positive outcomes have grown a pace with the qualities and quantities expressed in the editions held since the first and in the ability to attract new talents from Italy and beyond.
There is no doubt that the form which the contestants are required to use, based on the realization of an idea and brought to life with keen technical skills without the use of significant economic resources, favors those who are embarking on a professional path and the enthusiasts who wish to find confirmation of their natural ability. The Mestre Film Fest has demonstrated its vocation as an excellent training ground for budding talents – especially the Video-for-kids section designed especially for youths under age 18 and for schools – which leave behind the legacy of a fresh perspective and an ability to interpret real life in each of the participants, regardless of whether or not they decide to make video story telling their profession.
