Category rules We accept works in film or video of any genre that is animated. The length should be between 1 and 11 minutes. Submissions preferred as a secure online screener or a Vimeo/YouTube link. If the links are private be sure to send us the password. Our judges are worldwide and electronic submissions are much safer and a lot easier for us.

If selected, we will VASTLY prefer a file sent electronically. We think an .mov will work best but are open to other formats. We will be using all hard drives for the festival going forward. We are working on exact file requirements now and will have specs soon.. The film must be made available to the festival by April 18, 2020. Exact technical requirements will be e-mailed to all accepted film-makers with their acceptance notifications.

A brief description, a YouTube or Vimeo based trailer/teaser, will be necessary for any film over 10 minutes long. We would like one for shorter films but they are not necessary. We only accept electronic versions of press releases and any other supporting materials, which can be made available to reviewers and any press that may request it. E-mail is best for the press kit. We are not responsible for any printed material sent to us. We will try our best to make sure all posters, cards etc gets to the venues and are displayed but the only way to be sure that happens is to bring the material with you or arrange for someone to bring it to the venues for you. Space is limited so our suggestion is 2 posters max with some cards.

Final programming decisions will be made by the screening committee in
August. All entrants will be notified by email through FilmFestivalLife.com of the status of their submission by March 15, 2020. If you add us to your address box you should see our email, info@NYCIndieFF.com. But, please be sure to check your spam mails, and log into your FilmFestivalLife.com account during the month of March.
