Mission / description OXIFF is excited to announce ‘The City of Dreaming Spires’ debutant International Film festival.

Running alongside the Oxford fringe festival, the Oxford International film Festival will take place over a three day weekend from 27th - 29th May 2016 at the celebrated Phoenix Picture- House, which is situated at the heart of the beautiful and historic city of Oxford U.K.

Home to the world’s oldest and most distinguished English speaking university the city’s historical culture will be a worthy back drop for an ambitious festival that is striving to become a world renowned event on the film making calendar.

Oxford is widely acknowledged as the fastest growing city in the UK and its ever increasing diverse ethnicity will reflect OXIFF’s aims of finding engaging independent films from around the world. Our inaugural official selection will be celebrated with industry insiders and film lovers alike who will gather to enjoy world and UK premieres, vibrant after parties, insightful workshops, filmmaker Q & A’s, and a closing awards ceremony to honour the best in competition.

OXIFF’s mantra of ‘Craft-Style-Story’ lays down the architectural foundation of a festival and city that is setting out to blend its Saxon heritage with its new found modern exuberance and deliver a showcase for exciting film making talent that exhibits solid vintage craft with contemporary flair.
