FFL's Festival Validation
FFL feels responsible for only allowing legitimate and relevant festivals to accept submissions through our platform. Thus we verify the festival's legitimacy and relevance before pushing the call for submissions live. Some festivals are not being allowed to accept submissions at all. For festivals allowed to accept submissions FFL separates among:
VALIDATED FESTIVALS
These festivals fully comply with FFL's festival validation policy. There is no doubt that they are established and/or legitimate events.
NOT VALIDATED FESTIVALS
These festivals don't fully comply with FFL's festival validation policy but appear to be legitimate events. We will leave you to decide whether you should submit to this event or not. SUBMISSION GUIDE
Please read the submission information for your genre carefully.
All submissions must be an online screener.
We will watch your film. If there is an issue with your submission playing, we will notify you and give you every opportunity to get us a playable submission.
Foreign language work must be dubbed or subtitled in English.
Please do not send any paper press kits or any other print materials unless requested by the festival.
SELECTION & NOTIFICATION GUIDE
We notify those who will not be screening with us first.
Then we notify filmmakers who will be screening with us using the emails provided in the submission. The schedule will be posted on our website and each film screening with us will have a permanent page created for them on our website.
If selected you must supply us with your material on one of the following formats:
ProRes.mov or H264. We will not screen Mpg4 at the festival and the deadline to submit your screening material is Feb 1.
It is the filmmaker(s) responsibility to have all releases for any and all subject content. The opinion(s) expressed in the film are those of the filmmakers not the festival or it's associates.
Once your film has been accepted/scheduled into our festival, you may not withdraw your film. Our venues aren't cheap so please consider conflicts with other festivals BEFORE submitting to QWFF.
