Each month, judges, who all work in the film industry will decide who the big TMFF winner of $100 is.

AND KEEP THIS IN MIND: Unlike other online festivals, we won't put the full version of your film on our website if you don't want to. A TRAILER WILL DO.

Think your film is good enough? Make us think the same.

General rules At least 30 films must be submitted in total until the deadline of each month in order for the competition to run. If not, the film will be entered for the next month competition.

Authors cannot submit more than two entries per month and can only submit the same entry every month if their film didn’t win any awards. Only one filmmaker can win the $100 prize each month and cannot submit the same winning film for the next 6 months.

Note that only short films of any genre and format up to 35 minutes are accepted and the normal entry fee is $4.99.

All films must have been made in or after 2010 and have English subtitles (unless English is the main language spoken). Any genre and format is accepted (from 1 minute films to long, narrative/artistic short films).

Prizes are as follow:

Film of the Month – $100

2nd Film of the Month

3rd Film of the Month

Category Awards:

Animation of the Month

Experimental of the Month

Documentary of the Month

The Audience Award

Individual Awards:

Director of the Month

Screenwriter of the Month

Editor of the Month

Cinematographer of the Month

Actor of the Month

Actress of the Month

Film of the Year
All 'Film of the Month' winners will be entered into a special list and the winning film will receive a 'Film of the Year' distinction at the end of the year

All winning films will be given a Digital Diploma, while to the ‘Film of the Month’ award, a $100 cash prize will be awarded.

There will be 6 Nominations for the ‘Film of the Month’ Award, and three for each ‘Category’/’Individual’ award.

All films of any genre and format are eligible to win/be nominated to one or more of these awards, except for the Animation, Experimental and Documentary awards (where only specific films are accepted).

A film with more than one category (e.g. Animation and Experimental) can only be nominated for one ‘Animation’ or ‘Experimental’ award. Also, if one new category reaches 5 or more selections (e.g. Documentary), we will add a new award for that specific category (e.g. ‘Documentary of the Month’).

Even though, as usual, each film has its own page, the submitter can decide whether they want their film uploaded/embedded on our website. If not, a trailer must be provided. Keep in mind that the judging will be the same.

Winners of the ‘Film of the Month’ award have 30 days from the day of announcement to claim their $100 prize. After this period, prizes will be revoked.

By submitting your film to our festival you agree that your piece of work (full film or trailer) can be uploaded/embed on our website. The filmmaker/institution that is submitting the film must own the rights to do so and is responsible for the content they are providing. By submitting, the filmmaker allows TMFF to create a page for their film without infringing copyright of any kind of form.

How does it work?

After the submission is complete and the film is accepted, we will upload/embed your film/trailer on our website for everyone to see. Winning films will be highlighted.

One day before the end of the month, TMFF will announce the nominations for every award. The next day (which is the last day of the month) winners will be chosen and the ‘Film of the Month’ short will have won $100!

Winners, nominees and unsuccessful films can be deleted from the website after the monthly competition ends as long as the submitter decides to do so.
