Mission / description Vittorio Veneto Film Festival - Kids and Teens International Film Festival was born to create a big film festival for kids and teens that combines talent and culture, to indicate places of welcome for young people and to offer workshops dedicated to the study of new forms of expression artistic.
vvfilmf aims to be an initiative aimed at all the country and internationally to meet both the expectations of a young population and those of the adult spectator, in an attempt to bring the general public in forms of quality cinema. The programming of the Festival, while having as preferential public children, school-age teenagers and university students, opens with enthusiasm also for adults and the whole population that is interested in film art, fascinated by the artistic and visual culture, passionate to the didactic, pedagogical, educational and even from a simple fun and entertainment.
It represents a good opportunity to show new training paths, offering a constantly renewed program of cultural activities, and to propose, through the medium of film, the ability to respect and fruitful reflections open to all components of school.
Among the long-term collaborations that the Vittorio Veneto Film Festival has developed in recent years is RAI Cinema, the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo and Lancia Europe and, until last year, even with RAI Radio 2 and RAI Educational.
For the high quality of the selection of films in competition and for the professionalism of the work done over the years, the Vittorio Veneto Film Festival has been chosen by the President of the Biennial Foundation, Mr. Paolo Baratta, and the film industry Director of the Venice Biennale, Mr. Alberto Barbera, to choose a group of young jurors and accompany them in the world of international cinema during the course of the Venice International Film Festival.

FILM RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. INTRODUCTION

Vittorio Veneto Film Festival (vvfilmf) is an event organized by the Association 400 Colpi, a non-profit association for social promotion – with legal head office at Vicolo De Noni, 16/3 – 31020 Revine Lago (Treviso), and operations office at Palazzo Piazzoni Parravicini, Via Calcada n.10, 31029 Vittorio Veneto (Treviso), Italy.

It is supported by the President of the Italian Republic and the Ministry of Youth; by the Ministry of Culture and by the Ministry of School, University and Research. The vvfilmf is also supported by Veneto Region, Treviso Province and Municitpality of Vittorio Veneto, as well as by associations, organizations, institutions and private sponsors.

2. AIMS

The Vittorio Veneto Film Festival was born to create a big cultural moment for young people combining wit and culture. It is an event that finds out spaces for youth, labs for the study of new forms of are expression.
Though the Festival program has mainly an audience of children and teenagers attending school, it welcomes everybody, and above all the people who are interested in cinema and in its educational, pedagogical and enlightening power.
This project is an activity based on the support of many cities, corporations, associations and different experiences. The Festival aims to develop in the future, involving the whole territory all year long.
The seven editions of the Vittorio Veneto Film Festival – from 2010 until 2016 – started from these premises and embodied the will to draw new educational projects and to offer a complete and renewed program of cultural activities.

3. OFFICIAL DIVISION

The eighth edition of vvfilmf will take place in Serravalle of Vittorio Veneto (Treviso) – Italy, from Tuesday May 02nd to Saturday 06th 2017.
The official contest schedules 15 full-length films, divided in 6 divisions according to the age of the children who will watch and judge them:

• First Category “+PICCOLI”: for an audience aged between 6 and 8 years old (children attending the first and the second class of the primary school);
• Second Category “S. AUGUSTA”: for an audience aged between 8 and 11 years old (children attending the third, fourth and fifth class of the primary school);
• Third Category “MONTE BALDO”: for an audience aged between 11 and 14 years old (teens attending the three classes of the intermediate school);
• Fourth Category “PIZZOC”: for an audience aged between 14 and 16 years old (teens attending the first and second class of the high school);
• Fifth Category “VISENTIN”: for an audience aged between 16 and 25 years old (teens attending the third, fourth and fifth class of the high school). In this division will be also included a little group of people attending University.
• Sixth Category “+ALTI” (Higher): composed by 100 jurors aged between 26 and 100 years old, who will be responsible to award a prize to the best film among the 3 proposed to them.

4. JURIES AND PRIZES

The juries will consist of 1.500 young people who will award the best film of each division with the PRIZE vvfilmf.
Each decision taken by the juries is unquestionable.

5. FILM SELECTION

5.1 – Terms to be admitted to the contest
We will accept only films produced from 2013 and inedited in Italy.

All films already presented at other Italian festivals, in Italian cinemas or TV will be excluded from vvfilmf.

A copy of the film for the preliminary selection should be sent within Monday October 31st 2016 esclusively by free on-line way through our official partners:

Film submissions coming after the deadline (Monday October 31st 2016) or from alternative unoffical subscription procedures won’t be accepted.

5.2 – Selection conditions

Films selection will be carried out by the Festival General Director and the Art Director together with the vvfilmf Scientific Committee (composed by experts of films, cinematography and communication and pedagogists).
The results of the pre-selection will be directly communicated to the productions/distributors of the films by Friday November 18th 2016.

6. SELECTED WORKS

6.1 – Participation Form

After the official selection communication, the films person in charge should send the application form, downloaded from the official e-mail received from our Film Industry Relation Office, duly completed by Sunday December 18th 2016 by e-mail at film@vittoriofilmfestival.com.
The receipt of the form by the vvfilmf implies the legal acceptance of an invitation by all recipients, acceptance will be considered definitive and irrevocable.

6.2 - Program

The invitation of the film must remain confidential until the announcement by the vvfilmf during the official press conference, which will be held about two weeks before the beginning date of the Festival.
The general scheduling and screening times are the sole responsibility of the Organizing Committee.

6.3 - Materials

Once your admission to the Festival will be notified, you have to send the following materials:

• Film trailer (in DVD or Full HD formats). The duration must be longer less than 3 minutes;
• full dialogues list in english, or the subtitles list with code time by e-mail at film@vittoriofilmfestival.com;
• a copy of the film in DVD-HD, link or by USB pen drive;
• Press kit containing: biography, fimography and photo of the film
director; comment by the film director on the film and production notes; colour or b/w photo of the film; brochures and posters.

N.B.: The consent by the film production to the national and international TV broadcast of max 2 minutes trail is necessary in order to promote the films present in the contest.

The copy of the film for the screening must be the same, previously sent for the Festival preliminary selection.
Everything has to be sent apart from the copy of the film.
The materials (DVD or USB pen drive) will be returned only if the sender requests it. The Association 400colpi keeps a copy of the film at the Cine Library and may use it only for cultural and educational purposes excluding any commercial use.

6.4 - Catalogue

All necessary equipment for the catalog of vvfilmf (synopsis, cast and crew, biography and filmography of the director, the director and photographs of actors and scenes from the film in b/w and color, short commentary on the film) must arrive as soon as possible and no later than Saturday December 10th 2016, and must be marked “Material for catalog”.

6.5 – Promotional material for printing

With an expedition apart, the holders of the films selected must send, by December 10th 2016, promotional materials (press book, digital images of the film and of the director, videos, audio clips, etc.)
for distribution to the press and to potential buyers.
The advertising and promotional material must strictly be marked as “Film Selected for the eighth edition of vvfilmf" and, if so, the phrase "World Premiere".

7. SHIPMENTS

Every film selected will be sent exlusively by courier, by link, or by WeTransfer and it must arrive to the Festival headquarter (see address above) no later than Saturday December 10th 2016.
Each shipment has to be accompanied by pro forma invoice recording number of parcels, film length (in metres), film title and film value for customs duty (not more than 20$ for full-length films) and the caption “NO COMMERCIAL VALUE, FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY”.
Simultaneously, the sender has to e-mail to the Film Industry Relations Office (film@vittoriofilmfestival.com) a shipment notice provided with film title, number of parcels and shipment numbers (AWB number).

• Copies of the films must be subtitled in English if they come from non-Anglophone countries.
• The copy for the screening of the film must be identical to the one sent for pre-selection.

All films in competition will be screened in their original language, subtitled and/or dubbed into Italian in over sound.

8. COSTS AND COMMITMENTS

8.1 – Preliminary selection
No costs are due to enter the preliminary selection and for the official participation to vvfilmf.
The shipment of the movie, combined with entry-form and signed regulation is in charge to the contestants.

8.2 – Films in competition

The shipping costs of the material and for the screening of the film during the festival will be divided as follows:

• the participant will cover the cost of sending the film from the place of origin to the palce of the Festival;
• vvfilmf covers the cost of return.

8.3 – Insurance

The insurance costs relative to the transportation roundtrip media will be covered by the participants.

8.4 – Insurance in Vittorio Veneto

vvfilmf guarantees insurance for the time of storage of the film at our Festival.
Anyway, film insurance value can not exceed the lab cost of a standard copy, according to Italian fees.
The producers and distributors of all winning films are invited to donate a copy of the film on digital media in high definition, which will be filed at the Historical Archives of the Festival and intended for exclusive purposes of research and conservation, excluding any
commercial use.

9. PRESENCE OF DELEGATIONS

9.1 – Travel and hospitality costs

The Vittorio Veneto Film Festival is glad to invite a delegate for each film selected for the contest (film director, producer, distributor, actor...).
For the guests is expected hospitality (hotel, meals) from the day before the day of the screening to the day of Awards Ceremony.

For the guests, vvfilmf can assure
• transfer service between Venice International Airport “Marco Polo”, or Treviso Airport “Antonio Canova” to Vittorio Veneto, and viceversa;
• the hospitality service (hotel and meals) from the day before the screening, until the Award Ceremony.

Vittorio Veneto Film Festival does not cover the travel costs from and to homeland. Travel costs are paid by the guest.

N.B. The production and distribution companies of the films selected are invited to support the participation in Vittorio Veneto Film Festival for additional delegates to promote films in competition.

10. FINAL NORMS

The participation to the VVfilmf implies acceptance of these rules. It is the responsibility of producer, distributors or other parties presenting the film, to ensure they are legally authorized to enter the film.
For any dispute concerning the interpretation of the Rules, the original text written in Italian will prevail.
Outside of the cases already provided in the preceding articles, the general manager of VVfilmf has the right to regulate autonomously with absolute discretion any matter relating to the arts organization
and logistics of vvfilmf.

The General Director has also the task to suspend the enrollment of participants in special and motivated cases. Any dispute concerning the interpretation and application of this Regulation, shall be devolved to the functional jurisdiction of the Court of Treviso.
