THOMAS BARICEVIC: BIO

I began my working life after graduating as an Engineer. After a few years in the workforce, I went on to study sculpture and filmmaking at the Victorian College of the Arts. I have since written, directed, produced films, documentaries, corporate, educational projects and music videos. My work has appeared in international film festivals and won awards. I am actively involved in the film industry as a speaker and mentor, and have been a jury member for the Australian (AFI) Awards, now the AACTA's on numerous occasions. I founded the highly successful monthly film festivals, Short Trips and Fitzroy Shorts, which screened international and academy award-winning short films.

I currently work as a freelance producer/director and editor for my own production company Jackson Black Films and as a producer for ClickView Productions, the largest maker of educational documentaries, secondary and higher educational media in Australia and the UK. I am working on a number of commissioned and independently funded film projects, all in various states of production.

I am taken by the art of story telling and being able to convey that through the beautiful and complex medium that is film gives me the avenue to express myself to the fullest.
