What information may be collected by FFL, and how is it collected?
You can visit our site and use some of our Services without registering and providing any personal data. In the following instances FFL may collect PII you provide:
FFL collects any information you enter on the Site or give FFL in any other way (such as through an email, survey, or letter). The information that we collect varies depending upon how YOU use our Site.
1) Our account registration process for FILMFESTIVALS requires that the YOU (as FESTIVAL REPRESENTITIVE) provide us your name, occupation and email address. FFL will not share these PII with the public, and will only use it for communications with YOU. We also request other information, such as but not limited to, a username, password, the actual festival name, location, visitors quote and type of films you screen in order to create your own Profile Page. You may make changes, corrections, or updates to some PII provided through this Site which is used for communication with you and establishing your profile, by visiting the "Edit Account" or "Edit Profile" page on your FFL-PROFILE site. We may keep a record of all information that is changed (including deletions) and disclose it for any lawful purpose. FFL may determine what may be changed (e.g., if we are required to keep track of certain kinds of transactions, you may not change relevant information).
2) When you register to establish a Profile for our Service on our Website, you provide your email address and may also provide additional information, e.g. a pseudonym or your real name, your location, information about your films or festivals you attended, the URL of your website and information regarding other online film services you are using. YOU may also upload a picture of YOU, the FILMMAKER or another image, or an image representing your FESTIVAL as a profile picture on your Profile. You may change or delete this information at any time under "Edit Account" on your FFL-PROFILE.
3) When YOU send us an email, you provide your email address and may also provide additional PII.
4) When YOU post comments you may provide PII.
If you voluntarily provide your real name in connection with any content you submit to the Website, in addition to your email address, your name may be associated with the content you contributed. We will also use that PII to establish and maintain your account (e.g. to send you important information about Service updates or customer surveys) and provide you with the features we provide for FILM FESTIVAL and FILMMAKER users, e.g. for the purpose of sending you our newsletter.
Information in Public Areas of the Site
Please keep in mind that whenever YOU voluntarily provide information in public areas of the Site, such as the profile pages, that information can be viewed and possibly used by others. You are not required to post PII or any other information or content on this page, but may post it in your own sole discretion. We therefore advice visitors not to disclose contact information, including phone number, email address, street address or instant messenger address (within these public areas) that they do not wish to share. We are not responsible for PII you choose to submit in these public areas. Also, we may highlight content you post to the public areas of the Site such as reviews or comments, such as by featuring your content on the Site's home page.
Disclosing information to Third Parties
As far as FFL works together with contractors and service providers to deliver the Services, your PII will be accessible to such third parties only if and in so far as this is necessary for technical administration and maintenance of the Services. FFL may disclose your PII to third parties if you explicitly consent to it and if and, as FFL is required to do so by applicable law.
Protection and security of the PII you provide on our Website
FFL has implemented a variety of measures to protect against unauthorized access to and unlawful interception or processing of PII that FFL stores and controls. However, no website can fully eliminate security risks. Third parties may circumvent our security measures to unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications.
Use of Other Information
We use non-PII about our users for purposes such as measuring the number of visitors to sections of our Site, making the Site more useful to visitors and delivering targeted advertising and non-advertising content. We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the Site, track a user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate, non-personally identifiable use.
Retention of Information
FFL retains information for as long as required, allowed or we believe it useful, but do not undertake retention obligations. We may dispose of information in our discretion without notice, subject to applicable law that specifically requires the handling or retention of information. You must keep your own, separate back-up records.
Security of your Information
YOU must protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Please sign off when finished using a shared computer. Your emails to us are not necessarily secure against interception so do not include sensitive information in them. We generally will not ask for passwords in an email and you should assume that if you get such a request, it might be fraudulent. YOU MUST DO WHAT YOU REASONABLY CAN TO ENSURE THE SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
Our Security Measures
FFL takes reasonable precautions to protect the security of our users' information. We have physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to help safeguard, prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use your information. However, neither people nor security systems are foolproof, including encryption systems. In addition, people can commit intentional crimes, make mistakes or fail to follow policies. Therefore, while we use reasonable efforts to protect your PII, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If applicable law imposes any non-disclaimable duty to protect your PII, you agree that intentional misconduct will be the standards used to measure our compliance with that duty.
