Ah, awards season. The next few months will see a glut of ceremonies, from the PGA’s, SAG’s and DGA’s, to the Golden Globes, BAFTAS and of course the biggie at the end of the whole marathon – the Academy Awards. Whilst the autumn festival season has separated the runners and riders in the feature categories – with the likes of Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water), Sean Baker (The Florida Project), Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name) and more looking at potential success – the animated shorts race is soon to announce its longlist.
We’ve taken a look at the list of qualifying shorts, which is packed with some of the brightest filmmaking talent around – many of whom submitted their films on FFL.
